Experienced HVAC Service Technician

C.W. Schultz & Son, Inc. is looking for an experienced HVAC service technician to join our growing team in the Wilkes-Barre area.

We want someone who can walk into a service call, diagnose the problem, explain the repair to the customer, and get the job done right without anyone standing over their shoulder.

This is a position for an experienced technician, not an entry-level helper.

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of HVAC service experience preferred
• Strong residential and/or commercial HVAC experience
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Experience with gas heating and boilers
• Air conditioning and heat pump experience
• Electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and equipment specifications
• EPA certification
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Professional appearance and good communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate repair options and recommendations to customers

Boiler, commercial HVAC, refrigeration and plumbing experience are a major plus.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems
• Service gas and hydronic heating equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical and control problems
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Replace and commission HVAC equipment
• Identify system problems and recommend appropriate repairs
• Maintain accurate service records
• Communicate professionally with customers
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
